Back in February I had a call with Sebastian. He asked me if I wanted to help with pictures and video for their new startup. I had no idea who I was dealing with… We found each other through Instagram where I admired their concept from the first second but it was only after a first encounter and I got to know the story behind We Are Yuma that I knew: these are people with passion and the heart in the right place. Sebastian an his girlfriend Kiki devoted 18 months of their time and savings to create the first 3D printed sunglasses from recycled waste. When you’re the first one in the world and you have to figure out everything, it takes a while.

Skip a few months and we’re in September. A few hours after the launch of their crowd funding campaign, I opened their Kickstarter page and they had already reached 60% of their goal. 60%. After a few hours. Wow. It was only after 6 hours that they reached their 100% goal of 10 000 euros. 30 days later they reached 220% and thus setting the fundaments of the future of sustainable sunglasses.

I loved supporting this project. Working together with such great people on such a cool project is such a gift.
